It started with this (terrible, slightly negative, and less than accurate) article at the Wall Street Journal. Later, Destructoid cleared things up a bit. The Rock Band Network is supposed to go into the full on open beta tonight! As of 7:00PM CST tonight – both rockband.com, and creators.rockband.com are still down, as they ready for the transition. The world has its fingers crossed. While we wait, what music would you like to see on the Rock Band Network?

Half way there! Today the Rock Band Network toolset and documentation have been released. The entire Beta site is not yet open, and we will let you know as soon as it does! Bombsite Studios is using the same tools as the awesome folks at Harmonix to bring new music into Rock Band 2 through the Rock Band Network. We are using REAPER, a complete multi-track audio and MIDI recording, editing, processing, mixing, and mastering environment. We now have access to the new REAPER Rock Band Network Plug-in, and MAGMA, the Harmonix tool for packaging and transferring music into the Rock Band Network.
